In the world of product photography, storytelling is just as important as lighting, angles, and composition. My recent collaboration with Earth Rituals, a brand dedicated to natural skincare and calming rituals, was a perfect opportunity to bring these elements together in a visually compelling way.
The Brand & Its Philosophy
Earth Rituals embraces a holistic approach to skincare, promoting moments of calm and care with their thoughtfully crafted products. Their new range includes:
- Renew and Repair Facial Oil
- Hydrate and Repair Facial Oil
- Hydrate and Repair Daily Moisturiser
With a motto that encourages self-care— “Bring calm and care to your life one moment at a time”—it was crucial to translate this essence into the photography. My goal was to ensure each image reflected the brand’s natural ethos while maintaining a professional, high-quality aesthetic.
The Studio Setup & Creative Process
For this shoot, I used a controlled studio environment with professional lighting to highlight the textures and details of each product. Staying true to Earth Rituals’ brand identity, I carefully selected backdrop colours that aligned with their earthy and calming tones. This helped reinforce their connection to nature and wellbeing.
To enhance the storytelling, I incorporated natural elements into the composition. A carefully chosen rock served as a prop to elevate the products, reinforcing the brand’s grounding and organic philosophy. By blending soft shadows and diffused lighting, I created a sense of warmth and tranquillity—key emotions that Earth Rituals seeks to evoke.
